Florence Chapman (Savant)
Crowley- Funeral Services will be held for Florence S. Chapman, 82, on Monday April 14, 2014 at Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley, LA at 10:00AM with Rev. Kendal Faulk as Celebrant. Visitation will begin on Sunday April 13, 2014 at 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00PM and will continue on Monday at 8:00AM until just prior to service time. Entombment will follow the services at St. Joseph # 2 Catholic Cemetery in Rayne, LA. Mrs. Chapman passed away on Friday April 11, 2014 at her residence in Crowley, LA.
Prior to her retirement Florence was a Counselor for the Lafayette Counsel on Aging for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who enjoyed shopping, sewing, spending time with family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Priscilla Bergeron and her husband, Lawrence of Lafayette, LA and Mary Hoffpauir and her husband, Carl of Crowley; son Presley Chapman, Jr. and his wife, Hilda of Branch, LA and the “Light of Her Life” her granddaughter, Taylor Chapman of Branch, LA.; brothers, Raymond Savant and his wife, Elizabeth of DeRidder, LA, Clifford Savant and his wife, Debbie of Georgia and Gene Savant and his wife, Pam of Lafayette, LA.
Mrs. Chapman was preceded in death by her husband, Presley Chapman, Sr.; parents, Floyd Savant, Sr and Anastize Trahan Savant; brothers, Floyd Savant, Jr., Lawrence Savant and one sister, Patsy Savant.
Mrs. Chapman’s family would like to express a “heartfelt thanks” to the Staff and Doctors of St. Joseph Hospice as well as “Special Heartfelt Thanks” to Jennifer Hoffpauir for all of her love and care for Our Mom.
