Crowley – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Crowley for Glenda R. Leleux, 64, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 4:40 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
Fr. Higginbotham, Pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Interment will take place at Cossinade Cemetery in Vermilion Parish.
Survivors include her Beloved pet, Snowy; Godchildren Jackie T. Richard of Leleux, Jeremy Paul Richard of Nunez, Adeline R. Broussard of Kaplan, Kristina L. Quinn of Middleton, ID., Leighton Mire of Duson, Edward Dartez of Crowley; Cousins who were like immediate family, Michael J. Leger of Lafayette, Susan L. Splawn of Lafayette, Junita Vincent of Iowa and Frankie Abshire of Kaplan; Many more cousins and close friends.
Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Leleux, her parents, Noah J. and Anna Bell T. Richard, one brother, Ronnie Paul Richard, maternal grandparents, Leodice and Alicia L. Trahan and paternal grandparents, Darmas and Avia H. Richard and an infant niece.
Glenda was born in Crowley, La. on July 4, 1950. She graduated from Crowley High School. Glenda was an accomplished poet with over 55 published poems in different anthologies in the Library of Congress. Glenda’s special joys in life were her family, friends and pets. She loved fishing, dancing, cooking, music, reading, and writing. Glenda took great pride in being able to help those she loves.
The family would like to thank her hair dresser Sandy Duhon, all her caregivers, inclusive; Junita Vincent, Susan Splawn; her doctors, Dr. M. N. Katira, and Dr. Richard Fei.
The family request that visitation to be observed Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. and visitation will resume on Monday, July 21, 2014, at 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Richard, Ed Dartez, Robert Dartez, Leighton Mire, Michael Leger, and Joel Blanchard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roland Dartez, Scott Richard, Jonathan Blanchard, Eric Vincent, Robert Vincent, Marcus Broussard, Gerald Thibodeaux, Larry Trahan, Dickie Trahan and Michel Leleux
