Rayne—A Mass of Christian Burial for Frances “Poochie” Theunissen, 75, of Rayne will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne. Father Samuel Fontana will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Leo Catholic Cemetery, Roberts Cove.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 9:00 A.M. until service time in Duhon Funeral Home, Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home.

Ms. Theunissen passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 3:26 P.M. in a Crowley hospital.

A native of Roberts Cove, Ms. Theunissen was a longtime resident of Rayne. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Ms. Theunissen had worked for many years at J&J Cleaners in Rayne, and also worked as a sitter. She enjoyed playing video poker.

Survivors include her daughter, Trudy Hooper of Rayne; son, Troy Benoit and wife, Jane of Port Barre; sisters, Hilda Haure of Rayne, Mathilda Johnson and husband, Jasper of Rayne, and Louise Landry of Rayne; grandchildren, Matthew Hooper, Daniel Hooper, Dustin Benoit, Trisha Hooper, and Yola Cortez, all of Rayne; and former husband, Edward Benoit and wife, Marie of Rayne.

Preceding Ms. Theunissen in death were her parents, Joseph Daniel Theunissen and Helena Meyers Theunissen; sisters, Annie Klien and Marie Dupuis; and brothers, Hubert Theunissen, Joseph Peter Theuninissen,and William Theunissen.

Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Hooper, Matthew Hooper, Dustin Benoit, Troy Benoit, Ralius “Junior” Dupuis, Jr., and Sammy Theunissen.
