Lyons Point- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Florence C. Trahan, 70, at 3:00PM on Friday, August 15, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lyons Point, LA with Rev. Clint Trahan as Celebrant. Visitation will be held at Duhon Funeral Home, LLC of Crowley on Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 11:00AM until 9:00PM with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00PM and will resume Friday at 8:00AM until 2:00PM. Interment will follow the church service at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery. Mrs. Trahan passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Acadia General Hospital.
Florence was a resident of Lyons Point for the past 37 years. She enjoyed cooking, loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed going camping with her husband, John at their favorite “spot”, Cajun Camp Ground in Eunice, LA. She was a member of the Woodmen of the World, and a former member of The Ladies Altar Society of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lyons Point, LA.
Mrs. Trahan is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, John “Ballou” C. Trahan of Lyons Point, LA; children, Bryan Trahan and his wife, Mary of Rayne, LA, Tammy Trahan Smith and her husband, Myles of Ft. White, FL, John Randall Trahan and his wife, Linda of Lyons Point, LA, Rachel Trahan Norton and her husband, Mike of Noble, OK, Kristal Trahan Vilardo and her husband, Troy of Lyons Point, LA; siblings, Leroy Credeur and his wife, Vivian of Conroe, TX, Geneva Guidry and her husband, Paul of Duson, LA, Theresa Breaux of Katy, TX, Nora Guidry of Rayne, LA, Kernis Credeur and his wife, Carol of Rayne, LA, Jimmy Credeur and his wife, Jo of Lafayette, LA, L.J. Credeur and his wife, Sarah of Rayne, LA and Beverly Sweeney and her husband, Tim of Montgomery, TX; grandchildren, Broc Trahan, Brandon Abshire, Ashley Smith, Brittany Trahan, Amber Trahan, Dustin Smith, Chayse Abshire, Brice Trahan and Konner Vilardo; great-grandchildren, Broc “BJ” Trahan, Haydon Abshire, Riley LeJeuene and Jace Abshire.
She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Credeur, mother, Elta S. Credeur; sister, Evelina Credeur; brothers, Felton Credeur and Henry Credeur and two brother -in-laws, L.J. Breaux and Gavis Guidry.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Abshire, Troy Vilardo, Mike Norton, Myles Smith, Chayse Abshire and Dustin Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryan Trahan, Roscoe Guidry and Floyd Guidry.
