Condolence From: Carolyn Pierre
Condolence: Howard Pierre was a builder. A carpenter by trade, he built the majority of our family home as well as projects for L. J. Trahan, J. B. Mouton, Howard Duncan and other construction companies. Several families and individuals around the Acadiana area used his services. But he built more lasting things; things not made of wood and nails. He built a 58-year partnership with his wife Janice, producing five children and four grandchildren. He built strong family ties with his siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives. He built strong friendships, many spanning multiple decades. Finally, with his pain and suffering, he built that staircase to his heavenly home. Howard built all these things the only way he knew how—strong enough to withstand the trials of life. Rest now. Your work is done.

I can still hear him saying those 2 words and now I realize the power it held. So for tonight, my heart is broken. Oh, well, I must continue this race called life and know that a special home awaits me in due time...
