Obituary for
LeeVerdie Cormier
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Ms. LeeVerdie M. Cormier, 74, who passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 4:11 A.M. at the Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette.
Fr. Kendal Faulk, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Church New Cemetery Mausoleum in Rayne.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday, August 17, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 7 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
Survivors include three sons, Philip K. and wife, Mary Alice Cormier of Rayne, Shannon and fiancé’ Marque Knight of Rayne and Craig A. and wife, Sonya Rae Cormier of Rayne; two daughters, Kay Dogie and husband, Todd Richard of Church Point and Clair Meyer of Rayne; two sisters, Bernita Benoit of Mire and Linda Comeaux of Rayne; two brothers, Leo Meche, Jr. of Mire and Milton Meche of Mire; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Ms. LeeVerdie was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Pierre Cormier; one son, Patrick Wayne Cormier; her parents, Leo and Agnes Meche, Sr. and one brother, Willie Joseph Meche.
