Dorothy Bola Hoffpauir (Petry)
Crowley—Funeral services for Dorothy Bola Petry Hoffpauir, 85, formerly of Crowley, will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, Crowley. Reverend Ron Perry will officiate. Interment will follow in Acadia Resthaven Cemetery, Crowley.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home, Crowley, and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.
Mrs. Hoffpauir passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 3:10 P.M. in a Lake Charles care facility.
A native of Indian Bayou, Mrs. Hoffpauir was a faithful and active member of First Church of the Nazarene of Crowley for many years. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and gardening. Mrs. Hoffpauir’s greatest joy in life was spending time with and caring for her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Gloria DeGroat and husband, Art of Panama City Beach, FL, Julie Picard and husband, J.C. of Westlake, and Margaret Slaughter and husband, Jim of Arkansas City, KS; son, Archie Hoffpauir and wife, Janine of Waco, TX; sister, Alma Faulk of Petry Bridge, LA; grandchildren, Stacy Ervin and husband, Ken of Woodbridge, VA, Timothy Hoffpauir and wife, Sheranne of Seattle, WA, Jeremy DeGroat of Pittsburgh, PA, Christopher Campbell and wife, Stephanie of Westlake, Joshua Slaughter and wife, Katie of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Peter Slaughter and wife, Autumn of Oklahoma City, OK; great-grandchildren, Shannon Brian, and Kenny Ervin; Hailey, Liam, Finnian, and Britta Campbell; and Leanne, Megan, and Jaymie Marlow; and great-great-grandchildren, Lillian and Damien.
Preceding Mrs. Hoffpauir in death were her husband, of 62 years, James H. Hoffpauir, grandson, Jonathan DeGroat; and nine brothers and sisters.
Serving as pallbearers are Tim Hoffpauir, Chris Campbell, Jeremy DeGroat, Joshua Slaughter, Peter Slaughter, and Mitch Hoffpauir.
