Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park Church of Christ in Crowley for Richard Benoit, Sr., 70, who passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. at the Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.
Rev. Jason Corder, Pastor of Forest Park Church of Christ will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in the Ky Hebert Cemetery in Roberts Cove.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. Visitation will resume at 8:00 a.m. till time of services on Wednesday at Forest Park Church of Christ in Crowley.
Survivors include his wife of thirty eight years, Bessie J. Benoit of Crowley; four sons, Richard Lee Benoit, Jr. of Crowley, Kurt and wife, Jody Benoit of Rayne, David and wife, Chasity Sonnier of Gueydan and Brannan and wife Nicole Benoit of Crowley; two daughters, Kelly Leger of Gueydan and Drue B. and husband, Earl Guillory of Crowley; four sisters, Margaret Ann Broussard of Crowley, Martha Guidry of Gueydan, Linda Paige of Westlake and Celeste and husband, Ross Trahan of New Iberia; twenty nine grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.
Mr. Richard was preceded in death by two daughters, Natalie “Nikki” Sonnier Feverjean and Angela “Angie” Benoit Credeur; one granddaughter, Kieran Joy Benoit; his parents, Clyde and Ruth Benoit; one brother, Meryl Benoit and one sister, Lynn Fall.
