A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Richard for Scotty J. Matte, 43, who passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 at 1:33 p.m. at Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette.
Fr. Wayne Duet, Pastor of St. Edwards Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in the St. Edwards Catholic Church Cemetery in Richard.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7 in the evening on Sunday in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning until time of service.
Scotty was a DJ, at KBON Radio Station on Saturday 12:00 – 6:00 and Sunday, 12:00-5:00, for around nine months.
Survivors include his wife of twenty one years, Jamie S. Matte of Richard; two sons, Seth and Trey Matte both of Richard and his parents, Jimmy and Mary Matte of Richard.
Scotty was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elzia and Aline Matte of Richard and his maternal grandparents, John and Alzina Castille of Eunice.
