Obituary for
Gervais Joseph Soileaux
Rayne- Funeral services will be held for Gervais J. Soileaux, 73, on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 10:00AM at Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne, LA with Rev. Kendal Faulk officiating. Visitation will begin on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 10:00AM with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00PM until 9:00PM and will resume on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 8:00AM until just prior to service time. Entombment will follow the service at St. Joseph #2 Catholic Cemetery in Rayne, LA.
Mr. Soileaux was a longtime resident of Rayne, LA and worked as a Truck Driver for Stamm Scheele until his retirement. He loved cutting his grass, working his garden, was an avid New Orleans Saints fan, spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and visiting with his friends. He also enjoyed hunting; however, he did not enjoy cleaning rabbits or eating pork and beans.
He is survived by his son, Jasper Leger and his fiance’, Molly Berard of Breaux Bridge, LA; daughters, Vickie Richard and her husband, Errol of Rayne, LA, Pam Gautreaux and her husband, Bryan of Rayne, LA, Roxanne Soileaux and her husband, Darren Kibodeaux of Rayne, LA and Donna Chance and her husband, Jay of Beaumont, TX; brother, Rodney Soileaux and his wife, Jennifer of Rayne, LA; grandchildren, Scott Richard and Chelsea Richard ; great-grandchildren, Mallorie Richard and Dravin Richard as well as two “grand-dogs”, Pano Gautreaux and Maggie Soileaux.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Romero Soileaux; parents, Henry Soileaux and Angela Comeaux Soileaux; brothers, Clarence Soileaux, Elton Soileaux and Adam Soileaux and sister, Eunice Soileaux Bearb.
Pallbearers will be Scott Richard, Errol Richard, Bryan Gautreaux, Blake Richard, Josh Richard, Darren Kibodeaux, Drake Comeaux and Trea Gautreaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Jasper Leger and Rodney Soileaux.
