A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November, 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Crowley for Weldon J. Cashi, 71, who passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 8:32 p.m. at Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Fr. Matthew Higginbotham, Pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley, La.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, at 6:30 p.m. in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Friday, November 20, 2014, at 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
Survivors include his wife, of fifty one years, Myrna Cashi of Crowley; four daughters, Debra Cashi and Gerald Thomas of Mena, AR., Kimberly Cashi and her companion, Huey Touchet of Rayne, Michelle and husband, Jonathan Dale Sarver of Crowley and Christina and husband, Josiah Harrison of Mire; two sisters, Rose Marie, and husband, Donnie DuBose of Lafayette and Brenda and husband, Kenny Menard of Deer Park, TX.; five brothers, Larry, and wife, Ann Cashi of Sunset, Allen and wife, Debbie Cashi of Bakersfield, Calf., Brian and wife, Gail Cashi of Crowley, Mark and wife, Savanna Cashi of Deer Park, TX and Lonnie Cashi of Crowley; twelve grandchildren, Ashley Cashi, Cody Grandadam, Dallas Grandadam, Chasity Broussrd, Hali Touchet, Huey Lee Touchet, Spencer Sarver, Kaitlyn Sarver, Shalee Harrison, Taylor Harrison, Gabrielle Harrison and Issac Harrison; ten great-grandchildren, Hayden Grandadam, Carter Grandadam, Hunter McKevitte, Gracie McKevitte, Brodiee Grandadam, Destiny Landry, Justice Ray, Madison Touchet, McKenzie Spallino and Miley Spallino.
Mr. Weldon was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Mattie Claire Harrison; his parents, Alodis and Elinor T. Cashi; one brother, Elwood Cashi and one nephew, Troy Cashi.
Pallbearers for the services will be Spencer Sarver, Lukas Dauphin, Alan Cashi, mark Cashi, Brian Cashi and Lonnie Cashi. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Cashi and Huey Touchet.
