Duson—A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Elridge Reginald Knott, 83, of Duson will be celebrated on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 2:00 P.M.
in St. Theresa Catholic Church, Duson. Father Allen Breaux will serve as celebrant. Interment with military honors rendered by the Fort Polk Army Honor Guard will follow in St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery, Duson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 8:00 A.M. until 1:15 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home, Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 10:00 A.M.

Mr. Knott passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in his Duson residence.

A native of Grand Coteau, Mr. Knott had lived in Duson for the past 40 years. He was a faithful and devout member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, and he expressed his faith through the Holy Sacraments and through prayer. He especially loved praying the Holy Rosary.

Mr. Knott served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked hard throughout his life as a driller for Pelican Well Service, then as a custodian for Lafayette Woodworks. Throughout his working life, Mr. Knott enjoyed farming. He raised poultry, horses, rabbits, cattle, and a large variety of birds.

Mr. Knott enjoyed watching football, especially the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. His greatest joy in life was being with and caring for his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Judy Sonnier Knott of Duson; daughter, Priscilla Knott-Bourque and husband, Kasey of Duson; sister, Renella Stelly of Grand Coteau; brother, Robert Dale Knott and wife, Suana of Gonzalez; and grandchildren, Hunter Bourque and Gavin Bourque of Duson. Mr. Knott will also be missed by many other relatives and countless friends.

Preceding Mr. Knott in death were his parents, Edwin and Marie Firth Landry Knott; daughter, Veronica Knott; sister, Betty Jane Barrow; and brother, Wilbert Knott.
