A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point for Alberta “Berta” Murphy, 59, who passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
Fr. Henry Davis, Pastor of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church will be officiating for the services.
Ms. Alberta “Berta” was a member of the Knights of Peter Clavier Ladies Auxiliary Court #79, at Our Mother of Mercy Church in Church Point.
Survivors include one daughter, Tina Murphy of Lafayette; one son, Learrick and wife, Kissy Murphy of Church Point; three step daughters, Cynthia Murphy of Alexandria, Gwendolyn Harris of Houston, TX and Juandolyn Jackson of Shreveport; three step sons, Leroy Murphey, Jr. of Alexandria, Kedric Murphy of Alexandria and Steven Williams of Alexandria; two sisters, Charlotte, and husband, Terry Guidry, Mary Emily and husband, Larry Taylor all of Church Point; one brother, John Edward Minnix of Church Point; six grandchildren, Tajanerra Murphy, Javian Murphy, Tearrionna Andrus, Keyontaria Harrison, Keyona Harrison and Klare Harrison; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Ms. Berta was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Murphy, Sr., her parents, Lucius and Irene Minnix; one brother, Lucius Minnix, Jr.
