Rayne- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Annette S. Rice, 64, at 11:00AM on Monday, May 18, 2015 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Mire, LA with Rev. Michael Arnaud as Celebrant. Visitation will begin at Duhon Funeral Home, LLC of Rayne, LA on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 12:00PM with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00PM, until 10:00PM and will resume on Monday at 8:00AM until just prior to service time. Entombment will follow the church services and will be in Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Mire, LA. Mrs. Rice passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at her home in Rayne, LA.
Annette was employed by Dr. Michael Melancon and staff for 27 years and “loved every minute of it", retiring in 2010. She loved spending time with family and friends, crocheting, sewing and also spent a great deal of time “in prayer” , lived humbly and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by two sons, Albert Nolan, Jr. and his wife, Tonya of Mire, LA and Jude Rice also of Mire, LA; two step-daughters, Amanda Cloud of Silsbee, TX and Melissa Chance and her husband, Clifford of Evadale, TX; two sisters, Marlene Foreman and her husband, James of Judice, LA and Teresa Leonard and her husband, Mark of New Iberia, LA; brother, Francis Sonnier of Carthage, TX; two grandchildren, Brock Nolan of Mire, LA and Austin Nolan also of Mire, LA; six step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Ena Sonnier and her husband, Raymond E. Rice.
