Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Nicholas Romero, Sr., 54 who passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 at 1:09 P.M. surrounded by family at Tulane Medical Hospital in New Orleans.
Br. Randy Trahan from Northside Assembly of God Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. until 11:00 P.M. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. Visitation will resume on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 8:00 A.M. until time of services all in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Paula Touchet Romero of Crowley; one son, Nicholas Romero, Jr. of Crowley; one daughter, Kaesha Carriere of Crowley; his father, George Williams of Crowley; his loving pet, Bella Rose; his Godchildren, Klarisse Thibodeaux of Rayne and Lindsey Retif of Chalmette, La.; his mother-in-law, Alice and Dickie Sherman of Crowley; his father-in-law, Offord and Sandra Touchet of Rayne.
Nicholas was a graduate of Gueydan High School in 1978. He was the owner and operator of M & N Trucking Company of Crowley for several years. He was better known to his fellow truckers by his C B Handle “Hawkeye”. He was a former auxiliary Police Officer for the Crowley Police Department. Nicholas was a HAM operator, also a member of the Acadian Radio Amateur Association. His call sign with the HAM Radio is KE5MWX.
Pallbearers for the services will be Nicholas Romero, Jr., George Williams, Joey Retie, Kaesha Carriere, Joey Thibodeaux, Paul Touchet, Larry LeBlanc and Aaron Aucoin.
Nicholas was preceded in death by one daughter, Mitchell Sue Romero and his mother, Ouida Primeaux.
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested to please help with funeral expenses.
