Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point for George A. Cormier, 66, who passed away at his home in Church Point surrounded by family on Sunday, August 30, 2015.
Deacon Bryan Winn, from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held at a later date.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, at 7 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include his wife of thirty six years, Judy Matte Cormier of Church Point; two sons, Byron and wife, Susan Cormier of Church Point and Matthew and wife, Farah Cormier of Rayne; one daughter, Tiffany Gautreaux of Church Point; four sisters, Marsha Cormier of Lafayette, Cindy Credeur of Carencro; Corine Thibodeaux of Walker and Melanie Fontenot of Lafayette; one brother, Felix Cormier of Walker; six grandchildren, Amber Guilbeau, Bailey Gautreaux, Carlee Gautreaux, D.J. Hollier, Caitlin Cormier and Annalee Cormier.
Mr. George was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Mary Cormier.
