Verna " Red" Mae LeBlue

1943-2016

Church Point- Visitation for Verna " Red" Mae LeBlue, 72, will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30 p.m. at Duhon's Funeral Home in Church point, La. Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Duhon's Funeral Home in Church point, La. Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy, 693 N Main St., in Church point with burial following in the Our Mother of Mercy Church cemetery with Father Emmanuel Awe SSJ officiating.

Verna passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 1:13 p.m. at Lafayette General Southwest.

Verna Mae LeBlue was born on February 18, 1943. She was the fourth child born to Eva Carter and Willis Edwards of the Acadia Parish area. Verna grew up in Church point, La attending school in Rayne, La. Throughout her life, she had many different occupations always striving to be great woman. Verna later met and married the love of her love, Joseph Corlton LeBlue of Church point, La. To this union, they bore five beautiful children; 2 girls and 3 boys. Verna and Joseph lived a wonderful and eventful life together. They married for 52 years and raised each one of their children with love and compassion gearing them with qualities to make it in life. While living in Church point, Verna was able to spoil all of her grandkids and all 4 of her great grand kids. She was loved by her family and cherished by all those who have ever encountered her presence. Verna will be missed, but never forgotten.

Survivors include: spouse, Joseph LeBlue, of Church point; 2 sons, Corlton LeBlue, of Church point; Charles LeBlue ( Shemika), of Church point; 1 daughter, Germaine Poullard (Kirk), of Church point; and one adopted son, Kendricks LeBlue (Agnes), of Church point; 1 son-in-law, Leonce Edwards of Eunice; 2 sisters, Angel Monroe (Joseph), of Church point; James Chavis (Josephine), of Church point; Jennette Chavis, of Church point; 7 grandkids and 4 great grandkids with a host of nieces and nephews.
