Obituary for
Floyd "Rabbit" Duplechain Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point for Floyd “Rabbit” Duplechain, Sr., 80, who passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at 1:30 P.M. at Acadia St. Landry Hospital in Church Point.
Fr. Emmanuel Awe, Pastor of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church New Cemetery in Church Point.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Friday, May 13, 2016, 8:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. all at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point.
Survivors include three daughters, Victoria and husband, Matthew Citizen of Church Point; Judith and husband, Edward Citizen of Church Point, Patrenalla Rogers of Lafayette; two sons, Floyd and wife, Lisa Duplechain, Jr. of Church Point and Anthony and wife, Dariska Duplechain of North Carolina; four brothers, Joseph “Butler” Duplechain of Houston, TX., Wallace and wife, Mary Duplechain of Church Point, Lloyd Duplechain of Church Point and Raymond and wife, Julia Duplechain of Opelousas; fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Constance “Connie” Duplechain; two sons, Quentin Duplechain and Wenda Wilturner; one daughter, Melissa Citizen; three sisters, Flora Bell Guilbeaux, Audrey Willis and Clovis Duplechain; four brothers, John Duplechain, Lawrence Duplechain, Frank “Chicken” Duplechain and Percy “Tida” Duplechain.
