Crowley- Funeral Services will be held for Louis “Treeman” Winters, Jr., 75, at 11:00AM on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Duhon Funeral Home, LLC-Crowley Chapel with Rev. Bobby Vernon, Pastor of Westside Greater Works Church of Lewisville, TX officiating. The family has requested that visitation be held at Duhon Funeral Home-Crowley from 8:00AM until just prior to the time of service on Saturday. Interment will follow the funeral service and will be in West Crowley Cemetery in Crowley, LA. Mr. Winters passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at his residence in Duson, LA.
Louis Winters was a tree surgeon and was known as “Treeman”, having cut trees for 50 plus years; everyone loved him and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Winters is survived by one son, Kenneth Wayne Winters and his wife, Kesha of Lafayette, LA; three daughters, Polly D. Thomas of Lafayette, LA, Kathy Ann Arceneaux and her husband, Ronald of Lafayette, LA and Flossie Marie Winters of Crowley, LA; one sister, Ophelia Winters Andrews and her husband, Adam of Rayne, LA; twenty three grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Fred Hayes of Crowley, LA; five sister in law’s, Janice, Jeanette, Mable, Rose and Emma Hayes as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty years, Flossie Mae Hayes Winters; sons, Donald Winters, Ted Winters and Louis Winters, III; parents, Mary and Louis Winters, Sr.; four sisters, Wavier Winters Mouton, Virgie Winters Frances, Emma Winters Bargky and Myrtis Winters Broussard.
