Crowley- Funeral Services will be held for Matthew J. Hanks, 30, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Parkerson Avenue Baptist Church in Crowley, LA with Pastor Tim Moffet officiating. The family is requesting that visitation be held at Duhon Funeral Home- Crowley Chapel on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM and will resume on Tuesday at 9:00 AM until just prior to the time of service. Interment will follow the church service and will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley, LA. Mr. Hanks passed away suddenly on Friday, June 24, 2016 at his home in Crowley, LA.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Bertrand Primeaux and step-father, Lynn of Crowley, LA; sisters, Krystal Fils and her husband, Issac of Crowley, LA; Joni Frey and her husband, Thomas of Mowata, LA and Cheryl Darbonne and her husband, Donny of Crowley, LA; step-brother, Lynn Joseph Primeaux and his wife, Nicole of Crowley, LA and Chris Abshire, who was like a “brother” to him of Crowley, LA.
“Matt-Matt” was a loving Uncle to Joshua and Abbegail Fils; Austin, Elizabeth, and Jack Bryant; Cooper and Sophie Frey; and Kathryn Primeaux.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Gillis Hanks; paternal grandparents, Gillis and Eunice Hanks; and maternal grandparents, Austin and Viola Bertrand.
Pallbearers will be Issac Fils, Joshua Fils, Donny Darbonne, Austin Bryant, Lynn Joseph Primeaux,Jay Bertrand, Bubba Bertrand and Jude Guidry. Honorary Pallbearer will be Chris Abshire.
