Obituary for
Ferdie Joseph Bergeron
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Ferdie J. Bergeron, 90 who passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 10:50 P.M. at St. Landry Extended Care Hospital in Opelousas.
Fr. Samuel Fontana, Associate Pastor at St. Joseph Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church New Cemetery in Rayne.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 7 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include four sons, Terry J. Bergeron of Rayne, Karl J. Bergeron of Sunset, Shane and wife, Dina Bergeron of Rayne and Todd J. and wife, Niki Bergeron; three daughters, Karen and husband, Glenn Veillon of Sunset, Linda and husband, Charlie Marks of Opelousas and Cynthia and husband, Randall Mire of Mire; three sisters, Mildred and husband, Lou Hammond of Florida, Lydia Comeaux of Rayne and Winnie and Roy Gautreaux of Winnie, TX; twenty grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ferdie was preceded in death by his wife, Elma Bergeron; his parents, Eucice and Aline Bergeron; one great-grandson, Hayden Comeaux; three brothers, Laurace, Avery and Clifford Bergeron.
