Obituary for
James Joseph "Jim" Constantine
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for James “Jim” Constantine, 83, who passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, August 08, 2016 at 3:17 A.M. in Duson.
Fr. Samuel Fontana, Associate Pastor at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in the Abshire Cemetery in Rural Kaplan.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Tuesday, August 09, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 6:30 in the evening in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include his wife of sixty six years, Evelyn Constantine of Duson; three daughters, Connie and husband, Donald Vincent of Rayne, Patsy Carrier of Rayne and Susan Olivier of Kaplan; one son, Timothy J. Constantine of Houma; two brothers, Howard Constantin of Abbeville and Michael Constantin of Rayne; two sisters, Anna Lou Thibodeaux of new Orleans and Gloria Thibodeaux of Rayne; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the service will be Timothy Constantine, Jim Vincent, Brett Vincent, Kristopher Olivier, Damon Comeaux and Trent Carrier. Honorary Pallbearers will be Erik Fawvor and Tommy Russo.
Mr. Constantine was preceded in death by one grandson, Damon Carrier; his parents, Callise and Leah T. Constantin; two son-in-laws, Larry Carrier and Harold Olivier, Jr. two sisters, Vivian Matt and Mary Wanda Cutrer; one brother, Calice Constantin.
