Obituary for
Benjamin William "Ben" Hardy
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point for Benjamin “Ben” W. Hardy, 28, who passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 2:25 A.M.
Ted Standley will be officiating for the services.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 9:30 A.M. until time of services all in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point.
Survivors include his parents, Coach Mike and wife, Heather Hardy of Lafayette; one sister, Melissa Hardy and fiancé Alfred Kandah of Lafayette; paternal grandmother, Mildred Hardy of Lafayette; paternal grandfather, Ben Hardy of Moss Bluff; his maternal grandmother, Barbara J. Cunningham of Kingwood, TX; his God Mother, Annie Reeves of Lafayette and God Father, Gavin Cunningham, of Kingwood, TX.; several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Ben was a 2007 graduate of St. Thomas Moore, he attended SLCC and he was a member of the Hope Lodge #145 in Lafayette.
Ben was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard William Cunningham; two uncles, Clay and Shawn Cunningham; his paternal great-grandmother, Eloise Stanley.
In Lieu of flowers the family has asked that friends please spend a special day with your own family in honor of Ben. The Empty Chair Prayer, The pies are in the freezer, the turkeys on the list, But this Thanksgiving, oh how a loved one will be missed! Lord Jesus, please hear our Thanksgiving prayer, for those gathered around a table that has an empty chair, Oh Lord, comfort their hearts-we know that you are able, and let them know that this year, there’s another chair at Heaven’s Table.
