Rayne- Funeral Services will be held for Louise Cormier, 77, at 3:00PM on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Duhon Funeral Home-Rayne Chapel with Deacon Dennis Lacroix officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM on Sunday, November 27, 2016 until 10:00PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30PM and will resume on Monday at 9:00 AM until just prior to the time of service. Interment will follow the chapel service and will be in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery in Mire, LA. Mrs. Cormier passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at her residence in Rayne, LA.
Miss Louise enjoyed eating cookies, drinking coffee and listening to Cajun Music.
Mrs. Cormier is survived by her children, Mary Cormier of Rayne, LA, Clifford Cormier of Rayne, LA, Ronald Cormier of Duson, LA; grandchildren, Christopher Patton and his wife, Lindsay of Crowley, LA, Lindsey Patton and partner, Cameron Genovese of New Orleans, LA, Kelsey Cormier of Rayne, LA; and family pet, Knuggett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris J. Cormier; parents, Antoine Duhon, Sr. and Louise Leger; two sisters, Agnes Wilson and Beatrice Boudreaux; one brother, Antoine Duhon, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Verlonda Davis; Godchild, Paul “T-Boy” Boudreaux.
Mrs. Cormier’s family would like to thank the medical Staff with Acadia Family Medical Associate’s for the medical care given to Miss Louise. Also to Nora Guidry for her friendly visits and too the “Special Cousins” for their love and support during her final hours.
