Obituary for
Dalton Champagne Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Dalton Champagne, Jr., 80, at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, LA with Rev. Sam Fontana as Celebrant. Visitation will be in the Duhon Funeral Home- Rayne Chapel and will begin on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 9:00 AM with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM, until 9:00 PM and will resume on Tuesday at 8:00 AM until just prior to the time of service. Interment will follow the church service and will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery “New” in Rayne, LA. Mr. Champagne passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017.
Mr. Champagne is survived by his children, Joseph “Champ” Champagne, Sr. and his wife, Gwen of Arnaudville, LA, Debra Breaux and her husband, James of Breaux Bridge, LA, Craig Champagne and his wife, Barb of Youngsville, LA, Tracey Champagne and her fiancé’, Charles Albert of Duson, LA; nineteen grandchildren; thirty five great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and one sister, Sylvia Cahanin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Credeur Champagne; parents, Dalton Paul Champagne, Sr and Edelia Forrestier Champagne; sister, Jeanne Vincent.
Pallbearers will be Spencer Champagne, Cain Champagne, Dalton Breaux, Christopher Briggs, Austin Briggs, and Joseph “Joey” Champagne. Honorary pallbearer will be Terry Credeur.
