Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point for John L. “Blackie Boy” Lorden, 68, who passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 8:37 P.M. at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas.
Fr. Bartholomen Landry will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in Body of Christ Cemetery in Branch.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 8:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point.
Survivors include his long time companion, Mary Ann Milton; one daughter, Shalana Lorden of Sunset; three sons, Marcus Lorden of Sunset, Christopher and wife, Quiana Lorden of Lake Charles and John “Chester” Lorden, Jr. of Crowley; three step daughters, Katherine Charles of Sunset, Stephanie Milton of Arnaudville, and Cassandra Kennerson of Carencro; one sister, Elvina Larden of Lake Charles; one brother, Albert Larden of North Carolina; one granddaughter, Khamaria Lorden of Sunset; eight step grandchildren, Derrick Charles, Delana Gilyard, Tiffany Charles, Alonzo Milton, Desiree Milton, Darius Kennerson, Destiny Kennerson and Troy Kennerson, Jr.; and several great grandchildren.
Mr. Lorden was preceded in death by one step granddaughter, Deja Kennerson; his parents, Rufus Lewis and Emma Lee Larden; one brother, Anthony Larden.
