Rayne- Funeral services will be held for Marjorie J. Baptiste,32, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Starlight Missionary Baptist Church in Rayne, LA with Pastor Nathan Stevens officiating. Visitation will be held at the Starlight Missionary Baptist Church from 8:30 AM on Saturday until just prior to the time of the service. Interment will follow the church service and will be in Community Gardens Cemetery in Rayne, LA.
On June 24, 2017, The Angel of Death sounded her trumpet and a beautiful white dove bounded New Orleans, Louisiana, Where a faithful servant awaited her master’s call. She was always willing to do the works of the Lord and was prepared for her makers command.
Marjorie Baptiste was born on March 19, 1985 to the late Carol Baptiste and Larry Thomas in Lafayette, Louisiana. Marjorie was a caring, passionate, & devoted mother, sister, sister-in-law, cousin and friend. No matter the time of day or night she was there to lend a helping hand. Marjorie was baptized and received Christ at an early age. Marjorie was a faithful member of Starlight Missionary Baptist Church where she was a Youth Department Helper, Tribe Leader and a member of the Women’s Auxiliary. Marjorie worked as a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and helping others.
Marjorie united in holy matrimony on May 14, 2005 to Jason Senegal. To this union three children were born: Azariah Senegal, Jason Senegal Jr. and Mason Senegal. She also leaves to cherish her precious memory a very devoted companion, Russell Griffin; one stepdaughter-Tyrannie Harrison of Rayne, LA; one stepson-Nathanial Harrison of Rayne, LA; two sisters-Iasha Charles of Rayne, LA and Anitra Gabriel (Terrence) of Houston, Texas; two brothers-Philip Thomas of Houston, Texas and Forrest Charles of Rayne, LA; three uncles-Oneil Baptiste & Michael Baptiste of Lafayette, LA and Joseph Thomas of Rayne, LA; six grandchildren, Rylin Prejean, Harmonie Harrison, Kylon Harrison, Serenity Moore, EmaLee Harrison, and Noel Senegal; three nephews-Von’Keice, J’sia, and Jamari Eaglin; great aunt and cousin who she loved dearly-Joan Wilturner and Bridgette Wilturner; her second moms-Bernadette Charles and Jeanette Charles; maturnal grandfather-Bobby Baptiste (Patricia); Stepmother-Carolyn Bowman and a host of aunts, great aunts, nieces, nephews, godchildren cousins, and friend.
Marjorie was preceeded in death by her parents Carol Baptiste and Larry Thomas; her maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents.
