A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point for George Citizen, Jr., 75, who passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 4:01 at Acadia St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point.
Rev. Emmanuel Awe, SSJ., Pastor of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church will be officiating for the service. Burial will be held in the Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church New Cemetery in Church Point.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 8:00 A.M. until time of services all at the Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited on Saturday at 10:30 A.M. at the Church.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Mattie Vallier Citizen of Church Point; five daughters, Priscilla, Lisa and Jenetta Citizen all of Church Point, Shannon Minix of Beaumont, TX, Lilly Marie Green of Lake Charles; two sons, Joseph and wife, Tamara Citizen of Arnaudville, Henry Guidry of Eunice; five sisters, Jenny Lou Wildridge of Lake Charles, Carol Bellard of Church Point, Lydia Faye Meche of Church Point, Maxine Citizen of Church Point and Evette Duplechain of Church Point; three brothers, Robert Citizen of Lake Charles, Ricky Citizen of GA. and John Citizen of Scott; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Citizen was preceded in death by his parents, George Citizen, Sr. and Lula Mary Babineaux Citizen; one great-granddaughter, Aniyah S. Larden; one sister, Vanessa Citizen; one brother, Francis Citizen.
