Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 9, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Duhon Funeral Home for Alvin J. Monceaux , 81, who died Sunday March 7, 2010 at the Crowley Rehab. Hospital.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Winona Cormier Monceaux of Crowley; one daughter Sherry Herpin of Kaplan; four sons and their wives Michael and Lou Ann Monceaux of Alexandria, Rickey and Patti Monceaux of New Iberia, Ted and Janice Monceaux of Crowley, and Tracy and Sally Monceaux of Crowley; one sister Elaine Schexnyder of Beaumont Texas.
He was also survived by twelve grandchildren Mollye Demosthenidy, Jerrid Monceaux, Brandie Monceaux, Christopher Monceaux, Brad Monceaux, Bobby Monceaux, Cody Monceaux, Jamie Poret, Brady Herpin, Leah Herpin, Aaron Kimmell, Tim Monceaux; and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Forestier and Elda Bertrand Monceaux; one brother Lloyd Monceaux, and his son – in -law Craig Herpin.
Visitation will be held Tuesday March 9, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley.
