Oaklawn
I knew him as Mr Robbins or Jake. Melanie and Laura and Jake lived across the street from me in Lake Charles on Oaklawn street when Melanie and I were little. I remember playing with Melanies barbies- she had cool accessories. And also remember singing with sonny and Cher with Melanie. Jake and Laura had an awesome RV and they took me camping with them once I think it was to Indian Point? I thot it was so cool being in a camper while we were driving. I'm pretty sure that Laura watched me when I was a baby and my mom was working. The Robbins went to the Baptist church at the corner of mcneese and lake. I remember I went with their youth choir on some musical tour and I think they had me sing with them and I didn't even know the songs! I went to church with them on numerous occasions. I can remember a very friendly face and warm greeting when I think of Mr Robbins. For some reason, I also remember a plastic lunch pail that Mr Robbins had. They were good neighbors and he was a kind loving man. Laura and Melanie, I am sorry for your loss and am praying God's comfort for you. Love, Jenny
